OUR MISSION

Bldg-wide2.jpg

Bright Future will generate annually at least 488,595 kilowatt-hours of energy produced by panels on our Farmingdale warehouse roof so that roughly 48 Long Island homeowners may easily go green and save on their electric bills. Our Bright Future Solar project is run through PSEGLI and is one of more than 600 Community Solar Projects approved by the NYS Department of Public Service. The purpose of Community Solar is to allow homeowners who cannot afford a solar system, do not have a roof conducive to solar panels, or just don’t have the desire to install solar on their home, to support sustainable energy and reduce their electric bills.

HISTORY

My name is Laurie Anderson, and I grew up on Long Island. I was a little girl who ran barefoot all summer on the beaches and in the woods of Hampton Bays. I love nature and have always supported environmental causes. But as a resident of Long Island who drives everywhere, uses plastic containers, wears gym clothes made of microfibers, and flies off to foreign lands, I know that I am constantly robbing the land, wildlife, and sea creatures that I love. So I am looking for a way to make a difference to Long Island.

My family owns a warehouse in Farmingdale that needed a new roof and sits in total sunshine. While exploring solar options for this roof, we heard about the PSEGLI Community Solar program approved by the State Public Service Department. Becoming a Community Solar Host is a way that my family can help clean a few breaths of air and a few drops of our beautiful ocean. We are very excited about this project. We hope you will be too.
